humanists reject the claim that
the Bible is the Word of God.
They say the book was written

Can the Bible be trusted?
The answer is beyond a shadow of
a doubt: yes–and I’m gonna show
you how I know this on today’s
edition of “The Endtime Show.”
♪♪♪
Dave: Good afternoon, everybody,
I’m Dave Robbins with Endtime
Ministries, and I do thank you
for joining me on this edition
of “The Endtime Show.”
You know, we could talk about
world government, world
religion, the coming World War,
the peace agreement in
the Middle East, many different
things.
However, I’m sitting here in
Endtime Ministries, in our
studios, and in my office all
day at Endtime Ministries here
in Plano, Texas, and I get
emails, just from everywhere—
you can only imagine, and
letters and different things
and people trying to pull me
this way and pull me that way
and “I don’t agree with what
you guys teach and here’s why,”
and you know, just and, you
know, people, some people say,
you know, “Why even
deal with that at all?
The Bible’s a myth, a bunch of
fairy tales, and just–”
you know.
I deal with a lot of stuff here.
I love it, but it still can
be unique at times.
Well, I thought about the
prophecies of the Bible and how
detailed that we get into them,
but the thing is, if people
don’t understand the Bible
itself, and we pull that out of
society and different things,
people are gonna be lost.
Let’s just face it.
Let’s throw all our–I’m
throwing all my cards out on the
table right here in the very
beginning, because the Bible is
our roadmap to heaven.
And so what I wanted to do today
is to do a kind of like an
overview of the Bible to help
you understand this.
You know, for centuries, let’s
look at it, the Bible has been
the topic of debate.
You know, hey, the question is,
should it be allowed in schools
or the government or even
referenced in society at all?
There are so many religious–
some people say there are so
many religious texts why focus
on the Bible?
You know, there are religious
books everywhere.
Why just the Bible?
People question whether “under
God” should even remain in our
pledge or “in God we trust”
should remain on our money.
And some would say, “Well, is it
creation or evolution?
I just don’t–you know,
who cares, right?”
Some people actually ask
that question.
You know, some would say, “Well,
the Bible says there’s two
genders, but you know, science
says there’s more.”
Wow, have I heard that.
Or some would say, “Well, the
idea of the Rapture and the
Second Coming has been around
for years, but it hasn’t
happened yet, so that’s probably
just a hoax.”
And then some claim the Bible
contradicts itself and has been
translated so many times
that that book’s just
completely unreliable.
Others just dismiss it as, “Eh,
just a collection of myths and
fairy tales.”
Well, here’s my question to you
today, and you need to be able
to answer this.
Can the Bible be trusted?
Much more than any AI program,
much more than any set of
encyclopedias that you have on
your shelf, or any–
the greatest authors on
the planet today.
Can the Bible be trusted?
You know, you’ve probably heard
the claim that the Bible can’t
be trusted because it’s been–
“Oh, that’s been translated so
many times.”
Well, I have a question for you.
How many times has the Bible
been translated?
Do you know?
Well, the Bibles we have today
are actually just two steps away
from the original manuscripts.
The translations that we use are
based on the early copies, which
were drawn from the original
text.
The original text was written on
“papaya” and animal skins and
different things like that, but
there were early copies
of those.
And the Bibles we have today go
all the way back to those
early copies.
Think about that.
Two steps away from
the original.
So the idea that the Bible has
been translated countless times,
that’s more of a myth than
a fact.
And–but some people hear that
and they think, “Well, man, can
the Bible be trusted?”
Yes, it can, and I’m gonna prove
that to you.
So, in reality we have access to
manuscripts that trace directly
back to the originals and don’t
let anyone, including the devil,
the devil would love to deceive
you and say, “Well, man, you
know, I don’t really know
the truth.
I’ve got anxiety.
These guys on at Endtime
Ministries and ‘The Endtime
Show,’ they’re always talking
about the Rapture and the Second
Coming of Jesus Christ, and I
don’t know if I’m gonna be ready
because is the book reliable?
Is the Bible–can I base my
eternal salvation on that?”
One million percent.
So don’t let anybody, including
the devil, convince you that
the Bible is not trustworthy.
You can trust that with your
eternal existence, everybody,
with the eternal existence of
your family, you can trust
the Bible.
All right, so let’s get into
the Bible.
I know that there are some
people that are, you know,
they’re almost intimidated when
they see that, you know,
31,000-plus verses and they’re
like, “Oh my goodness, I can’t
even understand that.
I’m just not gonna even
read it.”
When’s the last time you
read the Bible?
Think about that.
Your eternal salvation is based
on the words in that book, but
most people only have just
a surface knowledge.
So we gotta talk about the Bible
and answer the question: “Can
the Bible be trusted?”
There is not a more important
subject than the Bible, because
the Bible is the key to
eternal life.
The Old Testament begins with
the creation.
Genesis 1:1, think about this.
“In the beginning, God created
the heavens and the earth.”
If you can understand and
believe that verse, then you can
know, yes, I can trust the rest
of this book.
Once you understand, “In the
beginning, God created the
heavens and the earth,” there’s
so much encapsulated in that
one verse.
That’s the beginning of
the Bible.
You know, after teaching
hundreds of Bible studies, I’ve
noticed that many people only
have a very shallow
understanding of the Bible, if
any at all, and it’s
truly unfortunate.
The Bible serves as our guide
for living our best life on the
earth, and our path to heaven.
And you can explore the Bible as
deeply as you wish, but it’s
essential to understand
the basics.
And so what I wanna do is to
show you how simple it is to
grasp and to trust.
So first we need to get into
the thesis of the Bible.
When I’m gonna write an article
for “Endtime Magazine” or for
another periodical or put a
program together or anything, I
will write down, as a rule, my
thesis, unless I’ve already got
it in my mind.
I know what I wanna write on,
but I normally just–I write
down my thesis.
What do I wanna say here?
What do I want this set of
writings, whether I’m writing a
book, an article or anything,
here’s what I wanna say, and
then everything in that article
or that book will point back to
proving that thesis.
Well, the Bible has a thesis.
In Matthew chapter 22, verse 36
through 40, an individual came
to Jesus and said, “Master,
which is the great commandment
in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt
love the LORD thy God with all
thy heart, soul, and thy mind.
This is the first and great
commandment.
And the second is like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbor
as thyself.
On these two commandments hang
all the law and the prophets.”
The Bible teaches these two
main themes.
First, man’s relationship
with God;
this is God’s highest priority,
our relationship with him and
his relationship with us.
But second is it addresses our
relationship with others, our
fellow man.
Every part of scripture is meant
to teach us about how we can
relate to God, have a
relationship with him, and
better our relationship with
him, and how we relate to
one another.
Every verse in the Bible is
geared towards that, even if
it’s talking about timelines and
all this other stuff, it’s
telling you, the God of heaven
is coming back to establish his
kingdom here.
Make sure you’re ready.
It’s your relationship with God,
your relationship with your
fellow man.
That’s the thesis of the
entire Bible.
Once you understand this thesis,
then the Bible really becomes
pretty easy.
And so, I wanted to go through
here and to help you because I
wanna make sure you can trust
the Word of God and to help you
kind of understand it
a little better.
You know, the Bible, it details
the loss of sonship after Adam’s
Fall, as he lost his position as
the son of God and began having
children in his fallen image.
Jesus Christ, as the second
Adam, came to restore humanity
back to their original state and
to bring many sons into glory.
And the Bible says he came to
reconcile the world unto him.
And God was in Christ
reconciling the world unto
him, right?
So that’s what really happened
here.
And the focus of Genesis, once
you get through that, up until
chapter 12, it goes through
2,000 years of human existence.
Then the focus in Genesis, the
book of Genesis, shifts
to Abraham.
Abraham became the father of
both God’s physical people on
earth, the Jews, and the
spiritual people, the church.
And God’s covenant with Abraham
remains relevant to today
in Israel.
And then you have–
probably Moses.
Moses was the most renowned
Old Testament prophet.
He led the Israelites out of
Egypt and delivered God’s law,
which was later fulfilled
by Jesus Christ.
Remember, he said, “I came not
to do away with the law, but to
fulfill the law.”
Then you have the–and I’m
just, I’m hitting on some
highlights here.
I can’t–this is not gonna be
a certainly not a verse by
verse commentary.
I’m hitting some highlights
because once you understand some
of these big highlights, once
you start tying it all together,
it’s not very hard to
understand.
So, the first temple era under
King Solomon lasted about, I
don’t know, probably, what, 400
years, but Israel’s disobedience
led to their exile.
That’s when they went down into
Babylonian captivity,
Daniel and some of his
contemporaries.
So after the destruction of the
first temple in 586 BC, the
Israelites, they returned to
build the second temple, which
was destroyed in 70 AD.
That’s the one that was here
during the time of Jesus, and
that was fulfilling Jesus’s
prophecy in Matthew chapter 24.
All of this would come down, not
one stone will be left
upon another.
Following this, the Jewish
people were exiled again for
nearly 2,000 years.
I think it’s about 1878 to
be exact.
And so I’m–what do we–
so what are we doing?
I’m giving you an overview
of what’s going on.
We’re gonna get a little deeper
into it, but I wanna make sure
you–it can be understood and
it can be trusted, and you can
base your eternal existence
on this book.
There’s not another book on
the planet that you can do it.
A lot of people love to read all
kinds of other books.
I like to read Louis L’Amour’s,
I like to read some different
things that–Louis L’Amour’s
really the only fiction book
that I’ll read.
But I like to read a lot of
nonfiction things on
geopolitical situations in the
Federal Reserve and what’s going
on in the Middle East and things
like that–but I love to read
all kinds of books–but the only
one that can get me to heaven
is the Bible.
That’s it.
Doug Norvell: The Roman
Government controlled the world,
so many people were looking for
a different Messiah,
a rescuing Messiah.
Remember the story of
the woman at the well.
“The woman saith unto him, I
know that Messiah cometh, which
is called Christ, and Jesus said
unto her, I that speak unto thee
am he.”
Jesus very clearly stated that
he was God and that he was
the Messiah.
We’re even more blessed because
we haven’t seen those things,
but yet we believe.
When Jesus cried out, “My God,
my God, why hast thou
forsaken me?”
he knew every one of these
prophecies had to be fulfilled.
He said “It is finished.”

Dave: So, the New Testament
focuses on Jesus Christ and his
mission to build his church, and
his rejection, his crucifixion,
his resurrection, the sinless
life that he lived, all of his
teachings, and the themes
of redemption and
restoring sonship.
That’s why he came.
And to reconcile or to bring
together again.
And the Bible says to take many
sons into glory, to restore
that sonship.
The first Adam lost his sonship
through disobedience, but the
second Adam, Jesus, reclaimed
what was lost through his
obedience and the act
of Calvary.
By studying the apostles and the
early church, you’ll learn that
how Jesus’s teaching should
be practiced today.
Go through the book of Acts and,
you know, from Romans to the
book of Jude, and it shows us
how to live and things we should
be a part of and things you
shouldn’t be a part of for
your protection.
And the Bible also provides
prophecies about the Second
Coming, the Antichrist, and the
millennium, which of course is
a 1,000-year period of peace,
where Jesus will reign with
his saints.
After that 1,000 years, Jesus is
gonna be–I’m sorry, Satan will
be released briefly.
And then the end of all humanity
will lead to eternal life for
those who have been born again.
Jesus told Nicodemus, “Except a
man’s born again, he can’t enter
or see the kingdom of God.
Marvel not that I say unto you,
Nicodemus, you must be
born again.”
Well, at the end of it all, you
have the Great White Throne
Judgment, Revelation chapter 20,
and that’s gonna follow the
1,000-year millennial reign and
that’s leading into our eternal
existence with God’s plans
extending beyond the 7,000 years
described in the Bible.
The Bible says, “World
without end.”
We don’t know much about
eternity, but every once in
a while we’re given a glimpse,
right, of what it’s gonna be
like, world without end.
I don’t know for sure what’s out
there, but I know that I’m gonna
be with Jesus Christ, and he’s
gonna be showing us all of
it, right?
So, the Bible, that’s the–
that’s the core, that’s my
program here today.
That’s the thesis of my program:
the Bible, God’s instruction
manual for mankind.
In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, it
emphasizes that all scripture is
inspired by God and is essential
for doctrine.
There’s not 18 different
doctrines.
There is the doctrine, and
there’s the doctrines of
the Bible,
and there is–the Bible is–
God’s Word is essential for
doctrine, reproof, correction,
instruction, and righteousness,
guiding believers toward good
works and spiritual maturity.
Doctrine, which, of course,
today, man, some people view
that as divisive.
But it simply refers to truth.
This is the truth.
And you know, don’t let your
version of the truth and this
version and you know, no, no.
Don’t do–a lot of people have
said, “Well, let’s just do away
with the doctrines and everybody
just love each other and we’ll
let God figure all that when we
get up there.”
Uh-uh, the Bible says hold to
them truths and because in doing
so–hold to the doctrines
because in doing so you’ll save
yourself and them that hear you,
so you can’t get rid of
the doctrine.
And–but it simply refers to
the truth of God’s Word and
what’s taught there, and the
Bible teaches that the true
doctrine is vital for salvation.
And the Bible says, if any–if
anyone, even an angel from
heaven, come teaching any other
gospel than we’ve taught unto
you, let him be accursed.
That’s how important it is.
So the Word of God, it helps
correct errors and provides
reproof and teaches the
right way to live.
You know, preaching from
the Bible, that’s essential.
I’ve heard people get up before
and get in a pulpit and never
give one scripture and I’m like,
“What in the world?” you know.
Everything you wanna talk about,
you should be given a message
from God if you’re in a pulpit
and so it’s very, very,
very important.
Go through the scriptures.
“Hey church, here’s what
I’m teaching tonight.
Here’s my scripture.
Here’s why we believe what we do
and here’s all the verses.”
That’s good Bible teaching.
You ever walk out of a church
service and you feel like you
just ate a steak?
You’re like, “A steak dinner,
man.
Wow, what a sermon.
What a message from God.
That guy was on fire.
He’s been in the prayer room, he
was anointed.”
And then you ever hear somebody
get up there and you’re like,
“Oh man, what time is it?
I can’t get out of here fast
enough.”
Woo, wow–okay?
Big difference, right?
And, you know, I just–
it is what it is.
But preaching from the Bible,
it’s essential.
Believers should embrace the
full scripture rather than
selectively choosing the verses,
right?
I mean, if a preacher gets up
and preaches from the Bible and
you say, “Wah, yeah, I get it.
I know it’s in the Bible, but
I’m gonna let so and so over
here have that one.
And I’m, you know, I’m not
gonna–I don’t wanna line up
with that, so hey, that was
for so and so.”
No, it’s for you too, it’s for
all of us, it’s the Word of God.
And it–this helps to equip
preachers and guides us towards
salvation, which is the number
one thing.
I wanna spend eternity with
Jesus Christ, and I know you
do as well.
So, the Bible is the only book,
but imagine, some people
couldn’t quote you one verse
out of the Bible, yikes.
Man, I gotta get that Word of
God sown into the fiber of
my being.
The Bible says, “Thy Word, O
Lord, have I hid in my heart
that I might not sin against
thee.”
And so, very, very important.
So, the Bible, think about this,
the Bible was written by God
to man.
A lot of people have said,
“Well, it’s just written by men,
some old guys way back in a
horrific period and, you know,
they just–there’s a ulterior
motive behind it,” and all that.
No, no, no, it’s written by God.
You know, when we open the Bible
to read, we’re hearing directly
from Almighty God.
A lot of people say, “Man, I
wish God would speak to me.”
When’s the last time you opened
your Bible?
And you know, whatever he says,
we can trust without question.
Study it.
Make sure you know what
it means.
Unfortunately, the lack of
scriptural knowledge in many
people’s lives, it’s almost
startling to me at times.
2 Peter chapter 1–I think
it’s down in verse 21.
It says, “For the prophecy came
not in old time by the will of
mankind,” it’s not some guy come
up with this book at some point.
“It was written by holy men of
God, and they wrote as they were
moved on by the Holy Ghost.”
This is God’s book.
The Holy Ghost is simply God.
And so this was–
this is God’s book.
You want God to speak to you?
Get in the Word of God.
The Spirit of God guided these
individuals in what to say.
God just used a bunch of
secretaries to write out–
to write his book for him.
He was dictating it to them.
Jesus himself said in John
10:35: “If he called them gods,
unto whom would–the Word of
God came, and the scripture
cannot be broken.”
So the scripture’s unbreakable.
It is our guide to eternal life,
and there’s nothing more
important than studying the road
map to everlasting life.
There’s nothing more important
than that in your life.
I love my kids.
I love my wife.
I mean, I love
my family.
I love what I do here at Endtime

I love it.
It’s not a job to me.
They keep trying to get me
to take a vacation.
I’m like, “I don’t have anything
I need to take a vacation from.”
My wife’s like, “I don’t care,
you’re gonna take a vacation.”
But the thing is, is that I–
this is–there’s nothing more
important than me getting to
heaven, getting my family
to heaven.
We can have all kinds of
conversations.
I love having fun.
I like going huntin’ and fishin’
and doin’–I love playing with
my kids and my grandkids.
I love it,
I love it all.
But if I don’t make it to
heaven, it was all for
naught, right?
And you know, here’s a big
thing.
I do not lose sleep over
writings that are not included
in the 66 books of the Bible.
I have a lot of people come to
me and say, “Well, what about
this book?
These books weren’t included
and, you know, this happened
and–” and look, I get all that.
But the thing is, God is
powerful enough to have
everything that we need included
in the 66 books of the Bible.
Everything you need is in that.
If you needed something else,
all those other books would be
in there, right?
You say, “Oh no, there were some
people back several hundred
years ago that pulled several
books out, and this happened and
we’ve got to have them books
for salvation.”
No, you don’t.
No, no.
Everything we need is included
in the 66 books that are
included in your Bible.
Everything.
You can trust your eternal
existence on God’s words
in the Bible.
That’s the–that’s the point
of my program today.
You can trust the Bible.
I know that there’s a lot of
people and a lot of controversy
about the Bible, and about the
existence of God and all kinds
of different things, but the
Bible explains all of that.
You can trust the Bible today.
Don’t let Satan deceive you into
thinking, “Oh, that’s just some
old, you know, fairy tales and
myths and different things.”
No, no, you can trust your
eternal existence on
the words in that book.
