Imposing Peace: The Push for a Two-State Solution and the Fulfillment of Prophecy
The article discusses the potential fulfillment of a biblical prophecy from Daniel 9:27, which foretells a European politician (the Antichrist) confirming a seven-year peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. The prophesied accord would establish a Palestinian state, allow Jewish settlers to remain, place the Temple Mount under shared supervision, permit the building of a Third Temple, and ensure Israeli control of Jerusalem. The article highlights current international efforts, especially from the European Union, to impose a two-state solution due to escalating tensions in the region. The author questions whether this peace initiative could align with the prophecy’s fulfillment.

Daniel 9:27 prophesies that a European politician — the Antichrist will confirm a covenant with many for a final seven-year period. This accord will be a confirmation of God’s covenant with Abraham that Israel would always have a homeland in the Promised Land. (Genesis 15:18)
The fulfillment of this prophecy will be the signing of a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. The prophesied agreement must do five things: 1) Establish a Palestinian state in Judea (the West Bank) 2) Allow the Jewish settlers presently living in Judea to remain in their homes, living as a Jewish minority in the new Palestinian state 3) Place the Temple Mount under an internationally supervised sharing arrangement allowing both Jews and Muslims to worship there 4) Allow for the building of the Third Temple 5) Israel will retain control of Jerusalem throughout the end time.
When you see the prophesied peace agreement, know assuredly the Final Seven Years to the Battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ have begun!
Back from the Dead … or Dying
International pressure for first reviving from near death and then advancing the two-state solution has intensified in the wake of the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel and the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
The two-state solution is still seen by the International Community as the only path to peace.
For decades, attempts to reach a permanent political settlement have centered on the two-state solution, which would establish a Palestinian state alongside Israel based on the 1967 borders (with land swaps). Every effort has failed.
What to do?
Force Peace?
European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell recently stated, “The actors (Israelis and Palestinians) are too opposed to be able to reach an agreement autonomously … If everyone is in favor of this solution, the international community will have to impose it.”[i]
Mr. Borrell also called for an international peace conference to draft a road map for a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians stating, “There is an initial draft for a peace plan that will provide robust security for Israel and the future state of Palestine.”[ii]
If that “proposal isn’t agreed [upon] then there is some leverage” to force Israel’s engagement, Borrell said.[iii]
Mr. Borrell has also stated Israel cannot be allowed to unilaterally block the creation of a Palestinian state after the war in Gaza, “One thing is clear — Israel cannot have the veto right to the self-determination of the Palestinian people … The United Nations recognizes and has recognized many times the self-determination right of the Palestinian people. Nobody can veto it,” he added.[iv]
Appearing with Borrell at his University of Valladolid speech in Spain, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said there is “an international consensus on the necessity of resolving the conflict on the basis of a two-state solution … It is time to implement it and the international community has the means, has the resources, has the mechanisms to do so.”[v]
Impose … Leverage … No Veto … Implementation …
Doesn’t sound like a peaceful negotiation, does it?
I cannot say whether this peace initiative will result in the prophesied agreement. However, Scripture foretells the most powerful politician in Europe will successfully negotiate (impose?) a peace agreement including a two-state solution in the near future.
